The daunting nature of the upcoming fixture list facing Premier League champions Manchester City has piqued widespread attentions across the Arsenal fanbase on Saturday evening.
City, of course, were back in action a short time ago.
Already sitting five points adrift of table-topping Arsenal amid their ongoing pursuit of yet another title in England’s top-flight, the Sky Blues welcomed relegation-battling Everton to the Etihad, for what was widely regarded as something of a gimme.
When all was said and done in Manchester, however, the day’s hosts instead stuttered to a share of the spoils, after Erling Haaland’s first-half opener was decisively cancelled out by Demarai Gray.

With Arsenal having since gone in front at Brighton & Hove Albion courtesy of Bukayo Saka, Pep Guardiola and co. could therefore find themselves a hefty seven points off the title pace in just a couple of hours’ time.
And such a gap, it would appear, is only adding to the confidence of those of an Arsenal persuasion that, despite the odds, their side could in fact march all the way to Premier League glory come the season’s close.
Over the course of their next five outings, the Citizens will travel to all of Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham, as well as welcoming Spurs to the Etihad.
