Lionel Messi ‘will be a Barcelona player’ again in 2023

The iconic attacker is reportedly ready to make the move back to the Camp Nou

Argentine superstar Lionel Messi is preparing for an imminent return to Spain with Barcelona, according to reports.

The name of seven-time Ballon d’Or winner Messi, of course, has taken its place centre stage in the headlines once more over the course of the season to date.

This comes with the 35-year-old, on the back of an altogether underwhelming debut campaign in France, having looked close to his scintillating best once more.

All told, across 15 combined appearances on the club and international front, Messi has directly contributed to a head-turning 20 goals.

In turn, it has not come as a major surprise to hear of the powers that be at Paris Saint-Germain already working towards tying the club’s creator in chief down to fresh terms.

As things stand, Messi’s contract at the Parc des Princes is due to expire in the summer of 2023.

But, as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the media late on Friday is anything to go by, then Messi’s future, in fact, looks set to lie well away from France’s capital.

As per a report from transfer journalist Pedro Almeida, the player regarded by the majority as the greatest to ever lace up a pair of boots is ready to take his talents back to La Liga.

This comes with both Messi and Barcelona desperate to reunite ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.

Almeida, in turn, has remarkably gone as far as to insist that the Argentine therefore ‘will be a new player of Futbol Club Barcelona’ come the current term’s end, with an agreement of sorts, seemingly, already in place.
