Real Madrid star Karim Benzema has taken to social media late on Friday, to hit back at France national team boss Didier Deschamps.
The relationship between Benzema and Deschamps, of course, took its place centre stage in the media late last year.
This came as the former, after being afforded a spot in his country’s squad for the Qatar World Cup, departed Les Bleus’ camp early in their journey to an eventual finale defeat at the hands of Argentina.
The official line provided at the time was that the veteran frontman had been ruled out for the remainder of the tournament owing to injury.
However, controversy reigned upon Benzema’s agent releasing a statement on Boxing Day, suggesting that, in fact, his client would have been available for the World Cup’s latter rounds had he not been sent home prematurely by boss Deschamps and the French medical team.

And now, as alluded to above, the subject of Benzema’s World Cup heartbreak has come back to the fore once more.
Upon encountering fresh quotes on Deschamps’ part, insisting that the striker had in fact come to his own decision to call time on his experience in Qatar, Benzema did not hold back.
Labelling his now-ex-manager a clown, the 35-year-old vented:
“The audacity of this (clown)! Holy Didier. Goodnight.”
