‘I’m very excited for him to come’ Real Madrid star leaks Kylian Mbappe potential summer switch

Real Madrid star Rodrygo appears to have suggested that a deal for Kylian Mbappe to join Real Madrid may be in the works by admitting that he is ‘very excited’ to link up with the Frenchman at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Mbappe shocked the footballing world when it emerged that he will not be extending his Paris Saint Germain contract beyond 2024, meaning that he will either be sold this summer or leave for free in 12 months time.

PSG are thought to be desperate to avoid the latter, meaning that they are now open to selling their star man in a summer that has also seen Lionel Messi depart and could see Neymar follow.

Long linked to Real Madrid, it could be a perfect storm for Mbappe to finally make the move to the Santiago Bernabeu with Karim Benzema having announced his departure for Saudi Arabia side Al-Ittihad last week.

And though nothing has been confirmed, it seems that Rodrgyo may have let the cat out of the bag about his impending arrival while doing media work on international duty with Brazil.

The right-winger, who enjoyed something of a breakout campaign for Los Blancos, admitted that he was ‘very excited’ for Mbappe to arrive at the club in the months to come when quizzed on the Frenchman.

“From 1 to 10, how excited am I to play with Mbappé? 10. He is a phenomenon”, he told the media. “One of the best in the world. We need a player in that position. I’m very excited for Mbappé to come.”

Having just confirmed a 103m euro move for Jude Bellingham, Real Madrid were looking at Harry Kane and Kai Havertz as potential options to replace Karim Benzema before the news about Mbappe potentially being on the market surfaced, though they have subsequently been priced out of moves for both.
