Stefano Piolo’s AC Milan, late on Sunday, sent a statement to runaway Serie A leaders SSC Napoli.
For those who may have missed it, the headline fixture of the weekend in Italy played out at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona a short time ago.
The matchup in question saw champions-in-waiting Napoli act as hosts, in a showdown with current title holders Milan.
The former, of course, have proven the standout side in not only Italy, but, in the eyes of many, the whole of Europe across the campaign to date.
In turn, ahead of an upcoming double-header with Milan in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, Luciano Spalletti’s troops were no doubt keen to lay down a marker.
As alluded to above, however, when all was said and done in Naples, instead, it was the Rossoneri who went on to secure one of the most eye-catching results of the Serie A season.

The ever-involved Diaz then turned scorer himself, showcasing stellar composure to cut inside before slotting beyond Alex Meret:

A shell-shocked Napoli’s comeback hopes were then ended entirely just shy of the hour mark, when another moment of Leao brilliance saw Milan make it three:
