Fringe Liverpool star drops selection hint ahead of Arsenal

Liverpool vs Arsenal

Liverpool are set to play host to Arsenal in Saturday’s late Premier League kick-off.

The Merseysiders head into the game looking to bounce back after suffering their first defeat of the campaign at the hands of West Ham last time out.

Said loss knocked Liverpool down to 4th in the Premier League table, four points adrift of table-topping Chelsea.

Arsenal, though, are not expected to prove any sort of pushover this weekend. The Gunners have climbed up to 5th in the English top-flight after a torrid start to the season, and are now unbeaten in eight league outings.

Such fine form means that Mikel Arteta’s side would actually climb above Liverpool with a win on Saturday – something Jurgen Klopp and co. are obviously eager to avoid.

Tsimikas to start vs Arsenal?

Ahead of Saturday’s clash, a fringe Liverpool star appears to have hinted that he could be in line to start.

Andy Robertson has, of course, been Liverpool’s main left-back for several years now, and has been superb in his role.

However, the Scot has been in pretty poor form so far this season, and is also something of a fitness doubt for tomorrow’s tie after picking up an issue whilst on international duty.

In turn, it appears as though Kostas Tsimikas could be in line to start versus Arsenal.

The 25-year-old did start a few games earlier in the campaign when Robertson was injured. Despite impressing, though, Tsimikas has struggled to secure first-choice status.

But now, the Greek has taken to Instagram to post a of photo of himself with the caption ‘Hands up (followed by a hands up emoji ) whoever can’t wait for the game tomorrow!’

Though nothing is yet confirmed, this does seem to suggest that Tsimikas is excited due to the fact that he has been informed that he will be starting the game. Only time will tell…
