FPL 2023/24: Best captain picks gameweek 2

Gameweek 2 of the 2023/24 Premier League season is set to get underway later this week.

Premier League action, of course, also means millions of players will be setting up their Fantasy Premier League side for the forthcoming action.

One of the most important aspects of FPL is picking your captain each week. Whoever you select as your captain with earn double their standard score, or triple it if you chose to play your triple captain chip, which you can do once per season.

But deciding on your captain each week can be a very tough decision that can make or break your game week.

With this in mind, 101GreatGoals will be providing you with an insight into the best captain picks for every game week this season.

Best FPL captains gameweek 2

Nicolas Jackson vs West Ham (7.0)

Nicolas Jackson made his Chelsea debut in a 1-1 draw with Liverpool last weekend.

Jackson is also predicted the get the 3rd most points of any FPL player in gameweek 2 (5.7), using Fantasy Football Hub’s points predictor.

Mohamed Salah vs Bournemouth (12.5)

Like Jackson, Salah looked very bright in his first game of the season. He provided one assist vs Chelsea and had a goal ruled out for offside.

The Egyptian now faces a very easy fixture vs Bournemouth, who Liverpool have put over three goals past on plenty of occasions.

Salah is predicted to get 7.1 points in gameweek 2, the second most of any FPL player.

Erling Haaland vs Newcastle (14.0m)

Manchester City have a fairly tough game this weekend vs Newcastle. However, when it comes to Erling Haaland, the opponent does not seem to matter that much.

The Norwegian began the season by scoring a brace vs Burnley and will likely be among the goals again this weekend.

Haaland is predicted to earn 8.3 points on FPL for GW2, the most of any player.
