Fiorentina set Sofyan Amrabat price tag amid Liverpool and Tottenham interest

He has been one of the standout stars at the World Cup

Serie A side Fiorentina will look for well in excess of 30m euros to sell World Cup sensation Sofyan Amrabat this January, amid reported interest from Tottenham and Liverpool ahead of the transfer window.

The Moroccan midfielder has been a key part of the Atlas Lions becoming the first side from Africa to reach a World Cup semi-final, and has earned rave reviews for his work-rate, tough tackling nature and his energy in the heart of midfield.

And 12 months ago, he could have been a Tottenham player, with a loan move with an option to buy having been discussed with Fiorentina only for La Viola to pull the plug on a move on deadline day.

Since then, however, his stature within the game, and price tag, have skyrocketed. His World Cup showings have put him firmly on the radar of elite clubs, if he wasn’t there already, and he has reportedly caught the eye of Liverpool as well as Antonio Conte’s side.

However, as per Spanish outlet Relevo, Fiorentina will demand a fee of around 40m euros all in, including a 30m fixed fee, for their 26-year-old star should clubs come knocking this January.

Amrabat is out of contract in 2024, but there is an option to extend his deal until 2025, something that La Viola will almost certainly activate in the coming months.

“We’ve option to extend his contract next year, there’s no rush – he’s part of our plans”.

Despite this, should the finances prove right, it is entirely possible Amrabat could be set to move away from Florence this January.
