Fashion giants Puma appear to confirm the future of Arsenal star amid exit rumours

A decision has been made over his summer plans

Fashion giants Puma have seemingly confirmed that Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has played his final game for the club ahead of a move to German side Bayer Leverkusen.

Xhaka starred in Arsenal’s final game of the season, scoring twice in their 5-0 win over a sorry Wolves side, and the 30-year-old picked up the man of the match award to cap off an excellent season.

But, it was all overshadowed by reports that he could be Germany bound, amid reports that he is keen to join Leverkusen.

Arsenal will receive a fee of around 15m euros, according to reports, while Xhaka himself will receive a four year contract upon his return to the Bundesliga, which he left to join Arsenal in 2016.

Quizzed on it himself after the game, Xhaka revealed that all would become clear this week, and Puma appear to have let the cat out of the bag, posting an image of their client with the caption “Two goals for the goodbye”.

This, in turn, was shared by Xhaka on his Instagram, seemingly confirming his impending departure.

It comes ahead of what is expected to be a busy summer for the Gunners, especially in midfield. At least two new faces are expected, with Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo thought to be their first choice pairing in an outlay that could be as much as £180m.

There will also be at least one defensive addition as Mikel Arteta looks to beef up his squad ahead of their first Champions League campaign since 2017.
