Those of a Palace persuasion will of course be fully aware of the injury hell endured by defender Ferguson since his arrival at Selhurst Park.
Owing to a serious knee injury suffered early in 2020, and linked fitness problems since, the 21-year-old, remarkably, has taken to the pitch in the Premier League on just a solitary occasion in the colours of the south Londoners.
After impressing in pre-season, though, the hope had been that, finally, Ferguson would go on to carve out for himself a prolonged stretch of game-time over the course of the 2022/23 campaign.
It will therefore come as a hammer blow for all associated with the club to hear that, in fact, the former West Bromwich Albion man is in line for yet another stint on the treatment table.
As per Matt Woosnam of The Athletic, Ferguson picked up a foot injury in training this week.
Although not understood to be directly related to his previous fitness woes, Ferguson is now nevertheless expected to spend a minimum of eight weeks out of action.
