Chelsea vs Everton betting tips: Premier League preview & predictions

Chelsea vs Everton 101 Great Goals prediction: Chelsea 2-1 Everton

Chelsea will be looking to build on their impressive win against Liverpool in the FA Cup when the Reds’ Merseyside rivals Everton visit Stamford Bridge.

Frank Lampard’s side were in a pretty poor run of form before the clash with Liverpool.

The Blues had been dominated by Bayern Munich in the Champions League, losing 3-0 in their own back yard.

They then failed to beat relegation-threatened Bournemouth, with their poor results beginning to pile up.

However, their impressive performance against Liverpool brought the feel-good factor back to Stamford Bridge just in time for a reunion with former boss Carlo Ancelotti.

The Italian has returned to the Premier League with a bang.

Since taking over Everton back in December, the Toffees have been one of the most in-form sides in the English top flight.

While they suffered their first loss in six against Arsenal a couple of weeks ago, the performance against Manchester United was impressive and deserved more than just a point.

Now, Carlo Ancelotti will be looking to rain on Chelsea’s parade when he returns to Stamford Bridge this weekend.

Chelsea vs Everton: Who will win?

After their win over Liverpool in midweek, Chelsea are considered heavy favourites for this clash.

The Blues are currently priced at 4/5 to win the game.

Considering their recent form and a pretty good performance against Manchester United, it’s surprising to see Everton considered fairly heavy outsiders.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side are priced at 16/5 to win the game.

Meanwhile, a draw is priced at 11/4.

A 2-1 scoreline in favour of the home side, as we predict, is priced at 17/2.

For us, your best bet probably comes in the both teams to score market.

Both sides have not been that great defensively this season, and both teams to score and a Chelsea win is 13/5.

That provides more value than just Chelsea to win at 4/5.

Moving onto the goalscorer market and Chelsea dominate the top of the list.

Tammy Abraham is favourite to score first at 4-1, despite being an injury doubt, with Olivier Giroud and Michy Batshuayi following at 5/1.

Mason Mount is then priced at 13/2, before Everton’s Richarlison comes in at 7/1.

Though, our pick of the bunch goes to Dominic Calvert-Lewin to score first at 15/2.

The Englishman has scored eight goals in his last ten games, and will likely cause problems for a shaky Chelsea defence.

Chelsea vs Everton match preview

The win over Liverpool will have done wonders for Chelsea’s confidence.

The Blues were on a run of not so impressive results before the visit of Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea had been torn apart by Bayern Munich in the Champions League, before failing to beat Bournemouth in the Premier League last weekend.

Though, Frank Lampard’s side were able to turn over the best side in the country right now with a pretty impressive display.

19-year-old Billy Gilmour was the star of the show, running the game from midfield at such a young age.

Willian and Ross Barkley then scored the goals which saw Chelsea progress.

Now, after that display, the Blues will be looking to replicate that performance against Liverpool’s Merseyside rivals Everton.

Will Ancelotti have a happy homecoming?

The Toffees were very unlucky not to have beaten Manchester United last weekend.

Carlo Ancelotti’s men have been in sensational form since the turn of the year, with just two losses in the Premier League.

They then faced Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United at Goodison Park.

Having taken the lead, Everton were pegged back by a Bruno Fernandes goal.

However, Gylfi Sigurdsson missed a guilt-edged chance to win the game in added time, before a follow-up shot from Dominic Calvert-Lewin was controversially disallowed for offside.

With that in mind, there’s no doubt Everton will have felt aggrieved they only got a point.

Now, Carlo Ancelotti will be looking to play the pantomime villain and upset Chelsea on his return to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea team news vs Everton

Chelsea have had a torrid time with injuries of late.

N’Golo Kante recently suffered an injury and could miss this clash.

Star striker Tammy Abraham also suffered an ankle injury against Arsenal back in January and has struggled ever since.

He missed the clash with Liverpool on Tuesday and looks unlikely to return this weekend.

Christian Pulisic also missed the Liverpool clash through a hip injury and is questionable to return against Everton.

Both Willian and Mateo Kovacic suffered Achilles injuries in the Liverpool game and are doubts for this weekend.

Jorginho remains suspended after picking up his tenth yellow card of the season.

Everton team news vs Chelsea

Everton have suffered a few injuries in recent weeks.

Lucas Digne picked up an injury not too long ago and missed the clash with Manchester United last weekend.

Morgan Schneiderlin was also unavailable to face his former club, having undergone surgery following a torn meniscus.

It may be a while before we see him back in action.

Seamus Coleman then had to be withdrawn during the game last weekend, with Mick McCarthy suggesting this week the Irishman could be set for a lengthy spell out.

Jean-Philippe Gbamin also remains sidelined through a long-term injury.
