Chelsea are set to agree an astonishing 12th signing of the summer, with Cole Palmer set to be followed through the Stamford Bridge entrance by Brazilian wonderkid Gabriel Moscardo in the final hours of the transfer window, it has been revealed.
The Blues are closing in on a £45m deal for Manchester City’s Palmer, who is set to have a medical on Thursday ahead of a Stamford Bridge switch. That was expected to be the end of their incomings, with the club having already signed 10 players permanently this summer, and focus was instead expected to shift to outgoings, with several players set to depart.

However, the west London side have once again provided a shock by making an offer for young Corinthians midfielder Gabriel Moscardo, who is just 17 years old and has made just 10 senior appearances.
Despite this, he is very highly rated across South America and Corinthians are holding out for a massive 25m euro fee to let him go, which would be a record sale for the Brazilian side.
Now, reports in Brazil claim that Moscardo is ‘one step away’ from a Stamford Bridge switch, with the Blues offering 21m euros up front plus a further 4m euros in add ons to make a deal happen, though Moscardo would stay with his current side until 2024.
Chelsea are already well stocked in central midfield, with the signings of Lesley Ogochukwu, Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo this summer following the arrivals of Andrey Santos and Enzo Fernandez in January, plus the signing of Carney Chukwuemeka last summer.
