Chelsea have ‘not given up hope’ of new Hudson-Odoi deal amid renewed Bayern interest

Bayern looking to sign Hudson-Odoi again

Chelsea have reportedly rejected a new bid from Bayern Munich to sign youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi, despite an injury that could keep him out until September.

Hudson-Odoi burst onto the scene last season under Maurizio Sarri.

Despite not playing often, he impressed with the minutes he spent on the pitch.

As a result of his performances and potential, Bayern Munich attempted to sign the youngster in January.

Their highest offer even reportedly reached a whopping £35 million.

However, Chelsea were unwilling to let Hudson-Odoi leave, despite the player pushing for a move.

Now, Bayern Munich are looking to test the waters again, but Chelsea have ‘not given up hope’ of convincing him to stay.

Chelsea refusing to give up hope

According to the Guardian, Bayern Munich have had a £22.5 million bid rejected to sign Hudson-Odoi.

They claim that ‘Chelsea have rejected a new bid from Bayern Munich for Callum Hudson-Odoi as they attempt to convince him to commit his future to the club, with the England forward understood to be targeting a return to action from injury in early September.’

With both Franck Ribéry and Arjen Robben having departed after last season, it’s no surprise that Bayern are in the market for a winger.

However, despite Hudson-Odoi’s desire to move on the last time that Bayern came calling, the Guardian claim that ‘Chelsea still have not given up hope of convincing Hudson-Odoi to sign a new contract.’

Their report continues by explaining that Chelsea are ‘especially keen to retain him given their transfer ban, although they have yet to offer improved terms on the deal offered earlier this year.’
