The 2023/24 season has only just begun but we are already being treated to an always-exciting international break.
England kick off their break on Saturday with their only meaningful match of the week as they face Ukraine in a Euro 2024 qualifier.
The Three Lions are the only side in Group C to have played four games so far but they sit top of the table with 12 points, with every team below them losing at least once.
The international break has become somewhat redundant for England as they always qualify from their groups with relative ease and are expected to do so again this year after a perfect start.
But Ben Chilwell has warned his teammates about becoming over-confident:
“I love coming here [to England’s training base at St George’s Park] — and we’d all say the same thing,” he said. “It is little things, like building culture and winning mentality over years and years.
“It’s about the day-to-day habits of turning up on time at the hotels, saying please and thank-yous to all the staff, doing everything right in the gym, doing everything right on the pitch. It all adds up to create the culture that we’ve built now — and it is a great place to come. We’re very confident, but there’s a difference between being over-confident and very confident.”
