Barcelona fans urge Xavi to make line-up change after win over Cadiz

Supporters of Spanish giants Barcelona have flooded to social media on Sunday, to call for a headline change to the club’s first-choice XI.

For those not aware, Barca were back in action a short time ago.

After kicking the defence of their La Liga title into gear with an altogether underwhelming goalless stalemate with Getafe, Xavi Hernandez’s troops set their sights on a first three-point haul of the campaign in a meeting with Cadiz.

And, when all was said and done, this is precisely what the Blaugrana went on to manage.

After toiling in their efforts to bag an all-important opener through 80 minutes, the deadlock, at long last, was broken upon Pedri rounding out a fine team move, laid on by Ilkay Gundogan.

Then, as proceedings rolled into injury-time, Cadiz were put to bed once and for all, Ferran Torres emerging from the bench to open his account for the season.

On a night which saw their side once again look some way short of their brilliant best, several members of Xavi’s squad have been singled out for heavy criticism.

None, though, has been more widely targeted than star striker Robert Lewandowski.

After the Polish international toiled once more across the 90 minutes against Cadiz, calls have begun to mount online for ‘Lewa’ to be dropped.

Not only that, but his replacement has been identified, too, in the form of backup Ferran Torres:
