Manchester United and Manchester City faced off in the FA Cup final on Saturday afternoon.
Manchester City headed into the match looking to take one step closer to the elusive treble.
Manchester United, meanwhile, were looking to complete a cup double after lifting the League Cup in February.
Ilkay Gundogan opened the scoring for Man City after 13 seconds with a sensational volley.
Bruno Fernandes was then able to put United back on level terms from the spot following a contentious VAR review.
However, Gundogan added a second for Man City in the second half to win them the game.
That match was possibly the German’s penultimate in a City shirt as his future is very much up in the air and he has been linked with a move to Arsenal.
Now, Bruno Fernandes has praised Gundogan following his showing in the final: “We were too soft and gave up too much space for the first goal but it’s an amazing strike. If players are tighter then maybe they can stop it but it’s an amazing strike.
“He’s [Gundogan] an amazing player and one of the best midfielders in the Premier League.”
