Nuno Espirito Santo linked as West Ham ‘considering’ David Moyes replacements following awful run of form

The Hammers are teetering around the relegation zone after a dreadful first half of the season

Former Wolves and Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo is among those that West Ham are considering to replace David Moyes should their poor form continue for the foreseeable future.

Currently the most out of form side in the Premier League, the Hammers have taken just one point from their last possible 21, and have scored just 15 goals in 18 outings thus far. Recent losses include defeats to Brentford, Wolves and Leicester City, while they also fell to a 3-1 defeat to Arsenal after taking the lead.

Given that this season follows a summer in which the club spent record sums on the likes of Lucas Paqueta, Gianluca Scamacca and Nayef Aguerd, it is safe to say that more was expected of Moyes and his side. However, while their European adventure continues in the Conference League, they are dropping out of the top flight as it stands.

Now, as per the Telegraph, while the Hammers don’t want to part ways with Moyes, they are now actively considering the possibility and have drawn up a list of potential replacements for the Scot as they seek short-term results.

“Ideally, the club would like to give Moyes more time, but his future is in the balance ahead of the game against relegation rivals Everton on Saturday”, they report.

Among those under consideration are former Spurs boss Santo, who was sacked by the north London side in November 2021 and currently manages Saudi Arabia side Al-Ittihad.

For now, however, it seems Moyes will still be afforded time to turn the season around, despite the looming threat of relegation.
