Will Liverpool secure a top four finish?

So far this week, the Reds have enjoyed two massive victories.

First, last Sunday, they beat West Bromwich Albion 2-1 at the Hawthorns in the game that’ll always be remembered for Alisson Becker’s 95th minute header.

Then, on Wednesday night, Liverpool battled to a 3-0 victory over Burnley at Turf Moor.

Roberto Firmino opened the scoring just before half time before a Nat Phillips header and a low drive by substitute Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain secured the victory.

This means Jürgen Klopp’s side have won four in a row and have taken 23 points from the last 27 available.

More importantly, Liverpool have climbed back into the top four for the first time since 7 February.

They’re currently one point behind third-placed Chelsea and above Leicester City on goal difference; +24 compared to +20.

Thus, if Liverpool win this one, somewhat against the odds, they’ll sneak into the Champions League.

Can Crystal Palace derail them?

In midweek, Palace were beaten 3-1 by Arsenal, despite Christian Benteke scoring for the fourth game in a row, as Selhurst Park bid farewell to Roy Hodgson.

With the manager leaving and over a dozen first-team players out of contract, a big summer lies ahead for the Eagles.

Nevertheless, they’ll be doing it as a Premier League club and recent victories over Sheffield United an Aston Villa means they’re 13th and could finish as high as 12th.

Will Liverpool secure Champions League football?

Prediction: Liverpool 2-0 Crystal Palace

Sadio Mané has scored in his last seven successive matches against Crystal Palace.

Liverpool won 7-0 at Selhurst Park back in December. The most goals they’ve scored against one opponent across the two fixtures in the same season is the 11 put past Ipswich Town in 2001/02.

This will be Roy Hodgson’s 364th and, potentially, last match as a Premier League manager, only seven men have taken charge of more.

Christian Benteke has scored four times as a visiting player at Anfield.
