Strasbourg will be in search of their first win in two games after a bad run of form sent them back into 18th recently with Montpellier up next at the Stade de la Meinau in a battle down in the bottom half of Ligue 1.
It’s been a long and tiresome season for Strasbourg already. Now in 2023, Le Racing come into this one off the back of losing 2-1 to Toulouse and 3-0 to Rennes ever since their excellent away win over Lyon.
This run keeps them down in 18th and within deep trouble. The gap is now four points on Troyes in the first safe spot of Ligue 1 and Strasbourg even sit behind Ajaccio in 17th by three points too.
As for Montpellier, they are in 14th and head into this one off the back of a very topsy-turvy run. The club did manage to defeat Auxerre two last weekend, but they were met with another defeat when Paris Saint-Germain headed to the Stade de la Mosson.
They are a healthy points tally above the bottom four, but nevertheless, with a 3-0 home loss to Nantes just above them and a 6-1 loss to eighth-placed Nice, there is still so much work for Romain Pitau’s men to do this campaign.
