Tip of the game

Match preview

The league leaders in Ligue 1 will be aiming to keep up their unbeaten run in all competitions when they play hosts to Auxerre at the Parc des Princes this Sunday afternoon with Paris Saint-Germain now five points clear at the top.

Although Lens are giving it a good go in the title race right now, on the other hand, it does feel like PSG will run away with another league title. In fact, Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar have already been involved in over 30 goals already in Ligue 1 as a forward trio, which is almost all of the 38 goals they have scored in the league. What’s more, with no losses in the Champions League and in France, they are the only side left in Europe’s top five leagues yet to lose a game.

PSG defeated Lorient last time out away from home, as Neymar got another goal in his race to win the top scorer award, while Danilo Pereira netted the winner. In fact, you have to go back to early October to see the last time the Paris side dropped points in all competitions, drawing with Benfica twice and Reims in consecutive games at the start of last month.

As for Auxerre, they are 15th right now and have a bit of breathing space on the bottom four having beaten Ajaccio two weeks back before a draw with Troyes. Another draw with Nice does means the club have actually only lost once in the past month, as Reims took all three points from them three weeks ago.
