Lorient are looking for two wins in a row for the first time in almost two months after beating Ajaccio last weekend with Regis Le Bris’ men set to welcome Auxerre to the Stade du Moustoir on Sunday afternoon.
Ever since losing Terem Moffi to Nice, Lorient have struggled to adjust their side. They did, however, smash Ajaccio 3-0 last Sunday, as Bamba Dieng, Romain Faivre and Julien Ponceau all scored goals each.
Prior to this, Lorient lost 1-0 to Nantes, were defeated by Lens on penalties in the French Cup round of 16, as Le Bris’ side also drew 0-0 with last-placed Angers and lost 4-2 to Reims.
Nevertheless, their chances to get back into Europe are still there, with the club just four points behind Rennes in fifth. Lens in fourth are 10 clear, however, and it does seem as Lorient are set to pay for this poor run of form.
As for Auxerre, they head into this one after a fantastic 2-1 win over Lyon. Gaten Perrin and Jubal scored goals in that comeback win last Friday, but it still keeps Auxerre down in 18th.
