A huge battle takes place down in the relegation zone of Ligue 1 this weekend with Brest set to welcome last-placed Angers to the Stade Francis Le Blé as the home side come into this one in the midst of a three-game winless run.

Brest are in the drop zone by goals difference here as they have let in the same amount (34) as Strasbourg in the safe spot of 16th, but the club have scored just 19 times compared to their 24.

What’s more, Brest have won one game extra with three on the board from 19 games although they haven’t won since weeks before the World Cup break when they defeated Clermont Foot 3-1 away from home.

Most recently, Eric Roy’s side lost to Lens in the French Cup round of 32, after two draws in Ligue 1 with Lille and Toulouse. Their only win this year is over Avranches in the round of 64 of the French Cup, having also lost to Monaco.

Angers remain bottom of the table for another week, although they did edge past FCOSK06 in their French Cup battle 1-0, which now sets up a round of 16 game with Nantes.
