Lorient will be looking to move on swiftly from the loss to Montpellier with the club now crashing down into seventh in the table as their hopes of a return to European football for next season get slimmer by the week.
Lorient conceded twice in the first half to Montpellier on home soil in their Ligue 1 return, but it does still keep them within touching distance of the European spots.
They are only two points behind Monaco in fifth, but after previously sitting third as early as October, moving into seventh is tough for fans to take.
As for Angers, they are in absolute tatters right now. The club lost 1-0 to Ajaccio in a battle down in the bottom four, and by losing to them, Ajaccio have moved seven points clear of them.
What’s more, the club have now let in 35 goals in the league - this is the most in Ligue 1. At the same time, Angers have won just two games and sit with just eight points from 15 games.
