Lyon are back down into ninth in Ligue 1 after a terrible run of form in the league ahead of travelling to the struggling Ajaccio who head into this game at the Estadio François-Coty off the back of their worst loss of the season.

Ajaccio were beaten 2-0 by Toulouse in the French Cup round of 32 in their last game, but a week prior to that, Monaco hammered them 7-1 with five goals coming in during the first half.

Youcef Belaili scored for Ajaccio that day and the club have now moved back down into 18th and sit inside the drop zone on goals difference which is now eight goals against them.

Lyon eased past Chambery in their French Cup outing after a hat-trick from Alexandre Lacazette, but in losing to Strasbourg at home in their last game, they are way off the European spots now. Lacazette scored another goal that day from the penalty spot.

Laurent Blanc’s side are now only in the top half of the table based on goals difference, while they are an almighty 12 points off fifth-placed Rennes and 19 points adrift of the Champions League spots.
