Bottom-placed Ajaccio are finally in the win column this season after a narrow win away to Brest ahead of them welcoming Clermont Foot to the Estadio François-Coty in Ligue 1 this Sunday as the away side return to the win column last time out in a friendly.
Clermont’s 3-2 win away to Bordeaux was their second away win of the season - albeit in a friendly - to make their three wins of the Ligue 1 campaign so far. It has helped them move on from the torrid display against Paris Saint-Germain at the start of the season, with them defeating Reims 4-2 shortly after and Nice 1-0 in the next game. A further win over Toulouse keeps them in 11th in the table as Pascal Gastien can see his side jump into eighth with a win and other results going their way.
Ajaccio are still bottom of the table in the French top flight, despite winning last time out in what was their first win of the campaign. Sadly for them, six losses so far and just one other draw keep them with four points and one behind 19th-placed Brest who they just beat.
The club previously went on a four-game losing run after racking up a point against Lens, with them losing to Rennes 2-1, Lille 3-1, Montpellier 2-0, Nice 1-0 and Lorient 1-0. Romain Hamouma scored the goal for Ajaccio in their sole win over Brest recently, with the club seeing four shots on target from a total of six efforts.
