Gillingham are sitting 23rd ahead of playing hosts to Salford City at the Priestfield Stadium with the Greater Manchester side aiming to jump into the playoffs if they win and other results go in their favour.
Gillingham are on a three-game winless run ahead of this game ever since squeezing past Fylde in the FA Cup first round replay. The club have since gone on to lose to Newport County, draw with Crawley Town in the league, before a 1-1 draw with Dagenham & Redbridge in the FA Cup 2nd round, which has now forced a replay between the two next Thursday. This also means four games in the space of two weeks for Gillingham and they could make a bunch of changes now.
As for Salford, they managed to beat Bradford City last time out in the EFL Trophy, which did put to an end a winless run of six games that has seen their season turn upside down in some ways. They are out of the FA Cup after a loss to Peterborough United, and losses to Carlisle United, Rochdale and Leyton Orient mean they have not won in over a month in League Two.
Nevertheless, Salford are still in ninth with 28 points and they are only behind the playoffs by four points.
