Sutton United and Carlisle United are set to clash at Brunton Park when League Two action returns this weekend as the two are separated by 10 points and 11 places in the league table as the North West outfit look to keep their playoff hopes alive ahead of Christmas.
Carlisle are sitting sixth in League Two ahead of this one with a commendable eight wins on the board and only three losses so far - only Leyton Orient at the top have lost fewer. At the same time, they have also managed to score the same amount of goals (30) as the league leaders.
Following on from the excellent Football League debut season last time out, Sutton are struggling this time around. The club are down in 17th with nine losses on the board. Sutton are also coming into this one with only 17 goals netted of their own, while also letting in 26 too. This has seen them win just six games and draw four others.
Sutton have also seen their cup runs come to an end in November after losing to non-league Farnborough in the FA Cup and Wimbledon in the EFL Trophy second round. The club did, however, manage to defeat Rochdale in League Two last time out, putting them a in a decent spot in terms of fighting relegation.
