Manchester United were looking to continue the momentum from their remarkable win over Lyon when Wolves visited Old Trafford on Sunday.
United appeared to be heading out of the Europa League on Thursday night when 10-man Lyon led 4-2 with six minutes of extra-time remaining. But goals from Bruno Fernandes, Kobbie Mainoo and Harry Maguire produced the most incredible finale.
Wolves were certain to be difficult opposition, though. Vitor Pereira’s men had won their last four games in the Premier League to virtually end any lingering threat of relegation.
