Eddie Nkeitah spoke of Crystal Palace’s excitement at hosting Europa League football at Selhurst Park next season after they kept their FA Cup celebrations going with a 4-2 win over Wolves.

Palace stunningly claimed their first major trophy at Wembley last Saturday with a shock 1-0 win over Manchester City.

Any thought they would take their foot off the pedal in Tuesday’s Premier League clash with Wolves was put to bed as Nketiah scored twice to give Palace the lead after Emmanuel Agbadou gave Wolves a 24th-minute lead.

Ben Chilwell’s deflected free-kick made it 3-1 to Palace five minutes into the second half and, though Jorgen Strand Larsen halved the deficit for Wolves, Eberechi Eze’s late goal took the Eagles beyond the 50-point mark for the first time in the Premier League era.

Palace could still secure a top-half finish with a win at Liverpool on the final day, but Nketiah is already looking ahead to next season and the prospect of continental football.

Nketiah told Premier League Productions: “We’re buzzing, we’re happy and it’s a massive day for us. Our manager was keen to keep it going and keep the celebrations going. Everyone was firing and we got the win.

“The unity between the fans and the players is amazing, it’s a good place to develop and it will be amazing to have European nights here.”

Nketiah’s double, which came in the space of five first-half minutes, took him to 50 goals for his career.

“It’s reach nice to reach that landmark and I know I can do much better and help the team,” Nketiah added.

“It’s a nice way to end the last home game and I want to contribute more next season.”
