Arsenal’s long-standing hunt for a prolific striker may finally be reaching its end, with the club entering talks with Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig.
The 21-year-old Slovenian, who scored 21 goals in 45 appearances during the 2024-25 season, has reportedly favoured a move to Arsenal for over a year.
Yet, while an earlier £60 million gentleman’s agreement was thought to be in place, fresh reports suggest Leipzig now want closer to £92 million.
Arsenal’s attacking frailties were laid bare in a frustrating campaign that saw them finish runners-up in the Premier League for the third consecutive season and fall to PSG in the Champions League semi-finals.
Alarmingly, no Gunners player reached double figures in league goals for the first time since 1924, underscoring the desperate need for a new goalscoring focal point.
Sesko has previously expressed a preference for Arsenal over other Premier League suitors such as Chelsea and Manchester United.

But with Barcelona also linked at one stage and the player’s market value skyrocketing, the North London club’s plans face a new financial challenge.
Chelsea are reportedly monitoring Sesko as well, while Arsenal remain linked with Sporting’s Viktor Gyokeres as an alternative should Leipzig’s demands prove too high.
Speaking in April, Sesko kept his cards close to his chest, saying: “We’ll see what happens. It’s open, anything can happen.”
With the transfer window opening briefly from Sunday to June 10 due to the Club World Cup, the Gunners have a limited window to finalise their striking plans.
Whether that will see them finally land Sesko, or pivot to an alternative like Gyokeres, remains to be seen.
