Match preview

The high-flying Stevenage are looking to keep up one of their best seasons in Football League history when they head to the Bet365 Stadium to meet with Stoke City who are struggling once again in the Championship this season.

The Potters did still manage to smash Reading 4-0 last time out in the league, as Jacob Brown, Dwight Gayle, Tyrese Campbell and Will Smallbone all scored a goal each in arguably the club’s best performance of the season.

Stoke are still down in 18th, however, and sit above the bottom three by just six points and also have to deal with the fact that 22nd-placed Huddersfield Town have two games in hand. Ultimately, they are far from safe in the Championship right now.

Stevenage, however, are in sensational form. They managed to beat the league leaders Leyton Orient over the weekend, as Jamie Reid, Jordan Roberts and Luke Norris all scored to now put the club two points behind Orient in the race for the League Two title. Better yet, Stevenage also have a game in hand.

Steve Evans’ men also beat Premier League side Aston Villa in the third round three weeks ago, with Reid scoring again before a sensational strike from Dean Campbell won it for Stevenage.
