Senegal vs Rwanda match preview

There’s very little on the line in Butare, but Senegal are likely to cruise to victory.

The reigning AFCON champions began this qualification campaign with four successive victories, including beating Rwanda 1-0 in the reverse fixture, courtesy of Sadio Mané’s 98th minute penalty.

So, Aliou Cissé’s side had already qualified, as group winners, prior to their 1-1 draw with Mozambique in June, so the Lions de la Téranga are now looking forward to January’s tournament, aiming to retain their trophy.

Rwanda’s one and only Africa Cup of Nations appearance came in 2004, a fact that will not be changing any time soon, given that the Wasps are yet to win in this group, sat with a measly two points to their name.

Anything other than a Senegal win would be a surprise at Stade Huye.
