Qatar vs Kenya match preview

Qatar’s preparations for the Asia Cup, which they’ll host of course, continue.

During the summer, Carlos Queiroz’s team didn’t cover themselves in glory at the CONCACAF Gold Cup.

The Maroons were embarrassingly beaten by Haiti in the group phase, before sneaking through courtesy of a shock victory over Mexico, only to then be smashed 4-0 by Panama in the quarter-finals.

Kicking off on 12 January, Qatar will be hoping to retain their Asia Cup title, drawn in Group A alongside Lebanon, Tajikistan and China PR.

So, after some mixed results over the last 12 months or so, will Qatar claim a confidence-boosting victory in Al Wakrah?

Kenya meantime are currently one of international football’s outcasts.

With African World Cup qualifying kicking off in just two months, Kenya face a race against time to get that suspension overturned, or they will be removed from Group F.

Here, everything points towards a home win at Al-Janoub Stadium.
