Tottenham Hotspur got back on track during midweek with a massive win over Crystal Palace.

Spurs thrashed the Eagles 4-0 at Selhurst Park to close the gap on the top four.

Prior to that, Antonio Conte’s team started the year with a bad defeat at home to Aston Villa.

Questions were then being asked of the manager, but in particular, the club’s hierarchy were coming under serious fire.

Spurs fans made their voices heard that they were very unhappy with how the club were failing to back yet another manager.

The atmosphere around N17 wasn’t great, but a big 4-0 has certainly lifted some of the pressure for now.

Portsmouth have had troubles of their own which lead to Danny Cowley being sacked.

Pompey are without a win in 10 league matches and have fallen into 13th in League One.

Defeat to Charlton at home was Cowley’s final chance before he was given the sack.

The South Coast club defeated MK Dons in the second round to reach this stage of the competition.
