Stuttgart vs Freiburg preview

Stuttgart are aiming to swiftly move on from their terrible defeat at the hands of RB Leipzig on the road with the club back at home to open their doors to a Freiburg side who have won both their games so far.

Freiburg headed into this season with a lot of motivation to challenge for the Champions League spots this season after brutally missing out by a handful of points in their previous two campaigns.

The club have started this with two wins so far, as they’ve managed to defeat Hoffenheim 2-1 with a goal from Roland Sallai alongside an own goal.

Freiburg also edged past Werder Bremen last time out in a 1-0 victory that saw Max Philipp score in the dying embers of the game after 23 shots for the club.

As for Stuttgart, they were smashed 5-1 by Leipzig last weekend after Serhou Guirassy gave his side the lead before letting in five in the second half.

Quite incredibly, Stuttgart would beat VfL Bochum 5-0 on the opening weekend where Guirassy scored a brace alongside Katompa Mvumpa and a goal from Dan-Axel Zagadou.
