Manchester City vs Real Madrid preview

The Champions League second leg encounter between Manchester City and Real Madrid is wonderfully poised at 1-1 after a tense battle in the first leg back at the Santiago Bernabeu that saw two excellent goals from range.

Vinicius Junior opened the scoring with a fantastic strike that gave Ederson no chance in goal. It was his 23rd goal of the season in all competitions, and with him bagging 21 assists too, he continues to challenge the likes of Erling Haaland for the Ballon d’Or.

Haaland scored yet again in the match with Everton last weekend, and he has now scored 52 times this campaign with 36 of those coming in a record-breaking Premier League season.

It was, however, another goal at the Bernabeu for Kevin De Bruyne that earned City a draw, as he smashed in a brilliant effort from outside the box to draw the game level in the second half.

These two clubs have met nine times in history, and this has incredibly seen three draws and three wins each. In fact, only once has this mouthwatering encounter ended with both teams not scoring after a 0-0 draw in 2016.
