Freiburg vs Werder Bremen preview

Freiburg are back at the Stade Europa-Park this weekend with the club heading into this one off the back of a narrow win away to Hoffenheim with Werder Bremen up next for them as they aim for Champions League football this year.

Bremen were battered 4-0 at home on the opening weekend after going 1-0 down after just four minutes before three more goals in the final 10 minutes of the game.

They also fell to a 3-2 loss to Viktoria Koln in the DFB-Pokal first round with them letting in three goals in the final 20 minutes despite leading early on.

Niclas Füllkrug scored from the spot once more for Bremen that day, as Marvin Ducksch netted in the first half. Amos Pieper was also sent off that day.

As for Freiburg, they defeated Oberachern in their DFB-Pokal first round battle after a goal each from Christian Gunter and Roand Sallai.

The club also narrowly beat Hoffenheim after an own goal was followed up by another finish from Sallai shortly after.
