Betting tip prediction: Turkey 0 – Italy 2

Italy will compete at their first major tournament in five years following their failure to qualify for the World Cup in Russia.

However, Roberto Mancini’s new-look Italy appear primed to really make their mark on this summer’s European Championships.

The Italians head into the tournament on a 27-game unbeaten run, having won ten of ten in qualifying and coming off the back of topping their Nations League group.

Turkey’s form in 2021 has looked much more promising following a shocking Nations League campaign which saw them relegated from League B.

Senol Gunes’ side currently sit top of Group G in World Cup qualifying having beaten both Holland and Norway.

Despite their improved form this year, it is unlikely that they will bring to an end Italy’s remarkable unbeaten streak on Friday.

The Azzurri have kept a remarkable 20 clean sheet in 32 matches under Mancini and are on a run of eight games without conceding.

Last Friday they thrashed the Czech Republic 4-0, producing yet another impressive defensive display.

Italy have combined experience, in Florenzi and Bonnuci, with youth, in Donnarumma and Bastoni.

Mancini’s back-line is likely to play a key part in any potential success at this summer’s European Championships.

Turkey vs Italy betting tips: Match preview

Turkey arrive at Euro 2020 full of optimism for what they could potentially achieve.

Senol Gunes’ squad is full of players who have just enjoyed thoroughly impressive domestic campaigns.

Burak Yilmaz, Zeki Celik and Yusuf Yazıcı were all involved in Lille’s Ligue 1 title winning side.

Caglar Soyuncu was part of Leicester’s team which won their first-ever FA Cup whilst also enjoyed a 5th place finish in the Premier League.

Ozan Kabak, Merih Demiral and Cengiz Ünder are also players who have made their mark in Europe’s top five leagues.

Back in March, they produced two incredible performances to defeat Holland and Norway in World Cup qualifying.

Last Thursday they defeated Moldova 2-0 in a friendly in their final match in preparation for the Euros.

Turkey are currently ranked 29th in the FIFA World Rankings – the lowest in their group.

Their second group game will see them travel to Baku to face Wales.

Italy’s 27-game undefeated streak

Since the arrival of Roberto Mancini, Italy looks to have re-established itself as one of Europe’s top footballing nations.

The former Manchester City boss joined the national team back in 2018 following their failure to qualify for the World Cup.

Mancini’s side now head into Euro 2020 on a run of 27-games unbeaten and a great chance of going all the way.

During qualifying for the Euros, the Italians managed to win all ten of their matches for the first time ever.

They then went on to win their Nations League group finishing above Holland, Poland and Bosnia.

The Azzurri have also got their World Cup qualifying campaign off to a flying start winning all their opening three matches.

In defence, Merih Demiral is set to start ahead of Ozan Kabak to partner Caglar Soyuncu.
