Doncaster Rovers vs Everton odds and betting statistics

Doncaster Rovers vs Everton match preview

Make no mistake about it, Everton looked ripe for a cup upset don’t they?

On Saturday, the Premier League’s bottom two went head-to-head, but this still was not enough to see Sean Dyche’s side get off the mark, beaten 1-0 by Wolves at Goodison.

Having also lost 1-0 to Fulham and 4-0 at Villa Park, the Toffees have began a season with three defeats, in which they’ve failed to score, for the first time ever.

The Blues only stayed up on the final day of last season, and Everton’s 70-year stay in the top division could be coming to an end.

On Saturday lunchtime, the Toffees will take on relegation rivals Sheffield United Bramall Lane but, before then, they surely cannot afford to crash out here.

Everton have not exited the League Cup at the second round stage since 2001, but could that fact be about to change?

Grant McCann’s team ousted his former employers Hull City in round one, meaning Doncaster are one the cusp of reaching the third round for the first time since 2017.

So, up against the current worst team in the Football League, Everton won’t crash out of the Carabao Cup at Eco-Power Stadium will they?

Rovers haven’t beaten the Toffees since 1953, a fact that could be about to change.
