Match preview

It’s time for the first o Dérbi da Invicta of the season, with Porto hoping to cut the gap at the top of the table.

Last weekend, the Dragões hammered Paços de Ferreira 4-0; Evanilson and Mehdi Taremi both scoring.

However, having failed to win either of their previous two fixtures, Sérgio Conceição’s side are eight points adrift leaders Benfica.

On Tuesday night, Porto cruised into the Taça de Portugal fifth round, easing past Mafra 3-0.

Iván Marcano, Stephen Eustáquio and Galeno all on target at Estádio Municipal de Mafra.

So, will the champions win again?

For this game, Porto will make just a 3.4 mile trip across the city to take on their neighbours.

Boavista are the only club, outside Os Três Grandes (big 3), to be Portuguese champions in the last 76 years, lifting the trophy in 2001.

These days, Os Axadrezados are ninth, following last Sunday’s 1-0 reverse against Rio Ave.

Boavista haven’t beaten fierce rivals Porto since 2007, so will it be a famous night at Estádio do Bessa?
