Algeria vs Tunisia: Head to head statistics

Algeria vs Tunisia match preview

This may be an international friendly, but when these two North African rivals go head-to-head, there’s rarely anything friendly about it.

This’ll be their first meeting since the 2021 FIFA Arab Cup Final in Qatar, with Algeria prevailing 2-0 after extra time in Al Khor that night.

Overall, Algeria have won their last three meetings with Tunisia, the longest streak either side have enjoyed in this rivalry since 1987, so will it continue in Aânavaen?

On Sunday, the Fennec Foxes continued their 100% record in AFCON qualifying, beating Uganda 2-1, with Mohamed El Amine Amoura the scorer of both.

Djamel Belmadi’s have now won five out of five in qualification, and will be amongst the favourites at next January’s Africa Cup of Nations, seeking to regain the trophy they lifted in 2019.

Tunisia meantime were actually beaten by Equatorial Guinea on Saturday, going down 1-0 at Estadio de Malabo.

Will there be a winner in this friendly at 19 May 1956 Stadium?
