Rotherham United vs Leicester City match preview

Two sides fresh off altogether contrasting starts to the new season are set to lock horns in a Championship clash at the New York Stadium this Saturday, August 26th.

The matchup in question will see Rotherham United act as hosts, in a meeting with Leicester City.

Beginning with the former, Rotherham, for their part, have endured a tough time of things over the early weeks of the 2023/24 term.

After staving off relegation to League One last time out, the Millers, with three games on the board, find themselves sitting in the bottom three once more.

This comes owing to just a solitary point secured from an available nine.

After bouncing back from an opening day drubbing at the hands of Stoke City courtesy of a hard-fought draw with Blackburn Rovers, Rotherham, last time out, made the trip to the Stadium of Light.

Safe to say, then, that Saturday’s hosts will have their sights set firmly on a bounce-back display later today.

Confident of adding ever further to the woes of their upcoming opponents, though, will be a Leicester City side who have gotten their promotion bid off to an ideal start.

The Foxes, of course, were condemned to life back in England’s 2nd tier this season, after being sent packing from the Premier League last time out.

Despite seeing the likes of James Maddison, Harvey Barnes and Caglar Soyuncu head for pastures new, though, Enzo Maresca’s men, to their credit, have racked up nine points from nine across the first three gameweeks in the Championship.

Back-to-back downings of Coventry City and Huddersfield Town were followed most recently by a meeting with Cardiff City at the King Power Stadium.

And Leicester, albeit just, managed to get the job done once more, thanking youngster Cesare Casadei for a last-gasp injury-time winner.

The Foxes, in turn, stand as one of just two sides with a perfect record on the board at this admittedly early point in the term.

And we at 101 are backing Saturday’s visitors to the New York Stadium to make it four wins from four, at the expense of a stuttering Rotherham this afternoon.
