Queens Park Rangers vs Ipswich Town match preview

Early Championship pace-setters Ipswich Town will be hopeful of keeping a flawless start to their return to the 2nd tier of English football alive on Saturday, August 19th.

This comes as the Blues prepare to make the trip to Loftus Road, for a meeting with Queens Park Rangers.

Ipswich, for their part, have enjoyed a fine start to the term, following up an opening day triumph at the Staidum of Light with a comfortable downing of Bristol Rovers in the EFL Cup.

Then, last weekend, Kieran McKenna’s troops made it a trio of wins on the spin, thanking goals on the part of Luke Woolfenden and Kayden Jackson for an eventual 2-0 victory over Stoke City.

Such endeavours leave Ipswich, alongside Leicester City, as one of just two clubs with a perfect record on the board after two weeks of the Championship season.

Turning attentions towards today’s hosts, Queens Park Rangers, on the other hand, saw their term get off to nothing short of a nightmare start.

Last time out, meanwhile, Gareth Ainsworth’s men were sent packing from the League Cup at the first hurdle, owing to a 1-0 defeat to Norwich City.

In between, though, QPR, to their credit, did manage to clinch a first three-point haul of the campaign.

After making the trip to Wales’ capital to take on Cardiff, Sinclair Armstrong’s opener was added to by Kenneth Paal, to guide the capital outfit to the right side of a 2-1 result.

Ainsworth and co, in turn, find themselves sitting 16th in the table in England’s 2nd tier, albeit with a minus three goal difference on the board.

So, all of this considered, how do we at 101 envision Saturday’s action unfolding at Loftus Road?

For obvious reasons, we are backing visitors Ipswich Town, when all is said and done, to emerge from proceedings with all three points.
