Match preview

A pair of sides separated by just a solitary point in the Championship table are set to go head to head at The Den on Wednesday night.

After the weekend’s fixture list was cancelled owing to the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, six outings are in line to play out on September 13th, followed by the same number 24 hours later.

And one such clash will see Millwall play host to Queens Park Rangers.

It is the latter who boast the advantage in England’s 2nd tier at present, sitting 9th, a point and five places clear of their upcoming opponents.

The Hoops, though, will head into proceedings eyeing a bounce-back result, after slipping to defeat at the hands of Swansea City last time out.

Millwall, on the other hand, are fresh off a morale-boosting triumph in their last outing, when Gary Rowett’s men put Cardiff City to the sword by two goals to nil.

Last season saw the Lions get the better of QPR across their two meetings, courtesy of a 1-1 stalemate in London, and 2-0 victory at The Den.

We, in turn, envision another three-point haul for Wednesday’s hosts on Wednesday, albeit by a slender margin.

101GreatGoals prediction: Millwall 2-1 QPR
