Millwall vs Birmingham City match preview

Two sides fresh off altogether contrasting weekend results are set to lock horns in a Championship clash at The Den this Tuesday, April 18th.

The matchup in question will see Millwall act as hosts, in a meeting with Birmingham City.

Beginning with the former, Millwall are fresh off a timely return to winning ways last time out.

After seeing their promotion playoff hopes dealt a series of blows owing to a stretch of just two points secured from an available 12, the Lions welcomed an in-form Preston North End outfit to east London.

And, when all was said and done, Gary Rowett’s troops had Tom Bradshaw and Zian Flemming to thank for an eventual 2-0 triumph.

Millwall, in turn, have put a crucial buffer between themselves and the rest of the playoff-chasing pack, sitting fifth with four games to play.

The Blues, prior to the weekend, had enjoyed a resurgent run of just defeat in seven.

In turn, John Eustace’s men made the trip to the Stadium of Light to face Sunderland with confidence high in the camp.

Upon the final whistle bringing a close to proceedings, however, Birmingham, despite taking a first-half lead, were forced to succumb to a hard-fought 2-1 loss.

The Blues, as a result, remain 17th in the Championship standings, eight points clear of the bottom three.

And we at 101 do not envision this position being improved upon all that much later tonight, backing hosts Millwall to ultimately emerge from The Den with all three points.
