Huddersfield Town vs Leicester City match preview

Two sides fresh off altogether contrasting opening day results are set to lock horns in a Championship clash at the John Smith’s Stadium this Saturday, August 12th.

The matchup in question will see Huddersfield Town act as hosts, in a meeting with Leicester City.

Beginning with the former, Huddersfield will head into the weekend’s action eyeing a bounce-back result.

This comes after the Terriers kicked their campaign into gear by way of defeat at the hands of newly-promoted Plymouth Argyle.

After hosts Plymouth took the lead inside six minutes at Home Park, Michal Helik’s finish on the stroke of the interval dragged Huddersfield firmly back into things.

A dismal three-minute spell late on, however, ultimately cost Neil Warnock’s troops dear, en route to an eventual 3-1 result.

And keen to subject their upcoming hosts to a 2nd defeat on the spin on Saturday will be a Leicester outfit fresh off an altogether more productive opening day.

The Foxes, of course, are one of three clubs to have suffered relegation back to the 2nd tier of English football last season.

The ensuing departures of James Maddison, Harvey Barnes, and Caglar Soyuncu, meanwhile, have only served in adding further gloom to the atmosphere at the King Power Stadium.

To their credit, though, this did not stop Enzo Maresca’s troops from battling their way to a three-point haul last weekend.

After falling behind early in the 2nd-half of a home meeting with Coventry City, Leicester came roaring back late on, thanking a Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall brace for an eventual 2-1 win.

And we at 101 are backing the Foxes to make it six points from six this weekend, courtesy of a comfortable victory over Huddersfield.
