København vs Sparta Prague betting tips: Champions League third qualifying round first leg preview, predictions and odds

København vs Sparta Prague odds and betting statistics

København vs Sparta Prague match preview

Will it be the champions of Denmark or Czechia who move one step closer to Champions League qualification?

FC København have featured in 15 UEFA group stages since their debut in 2006, five of which have come in the top-tier competition, guaranteed to add to the former tally, hoping to add to the latter as well.

The Lions are actually aiming to qualify for the Champions League in back-to-back seasons for the very first time, with Jacob Neestrup’s side beginning their campaign by demolishing Breiðablik.

Having won 2-0 at Kópavogsvöllur, København then prevailed 6-2 at home last Wednesday, with Orri Óskarsson the scorer of a hat-trick in that one.

Here, as much as the Danish champions would love an equally emphatic home win, this’ll be a far tougher test.

Sparta Prague meantime ended their nine-year wait to be Czech champions last season, with this partially the reason they, remarkably, they haven’t featured in the Champions League stages since 2005.

Will København prevail in this first leg at Parken?

The winners of this tie will take on Raków Częstochowa or Aris Limassol in the UEFA Champions League play-off round.

The losers drop into the UEFA Europa League play-offs, where they’ll face the losers of AEK Athens vs GNK Dinamo Zagreb.
