RB Leipzig are looking to put the pressure on Bayern Munich on Friday night as they welcome Stuttgart to the Red Bull Arena with Marco Rose now guiding his side into third and as close to the serial Bundesliga winners as they have been since 2017.

Leipzig have not got near Bayern in the last the years and nobody has managed to stop the 32-time champions of Germany in the past decade. Now, however, the former Dortmund manager, Rose, has the chance to put his side within one point of them before Bayern meet Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday.

Leipzig are still one point adrift of Union Berlin in second and there is only two points separating sixth and second in the Bundesliga right now after Leipzig hammered Schalke 6-1.

Timo Werner got in on the goals once more that day, as Andre Silva bagged a first half brace. Dani Olmo and Yussuf Poulsen added a fifth and sixth in the final 10 minutes, as Benjamin Henrichs also scored.

Stuttgart could be sucked into the bottom three if they fail to win here, as they have returned with two draws in a row against Mainz and Hoffenheim. They sit just above 16th-placed Bochum by a superior goals difference.

Rose also guided Leipzig to a draw with Bayern last weekend, and he should guide his side to three points in this one.
