Bochum have slumped to the bottom of the Bundesliga ahead of this gameweek as the club kicks off this weekend’s action with a trip to the RheinEnergieSTADION where Koln are bidding for their first win in three games.

Bochum could not afford to lose at home to Schalke last weekend in what was billed as the biggest game of the season for the two relegation threatened sides. A 2-0 loss to them has now launched them to the foot of the table.

On the other hand, they are only in the bottom three on goals difference as, quite incredibly, all those in the bottom four sit with 19 points and keep adrift from one another on goals difference only.

Nevertheless, it was the 16th defeat of the season for Bochum and they have now become the clear favourites to head back into 2. Bundesliga, as they have not won a game since defeating Hoffenheim 5-2 five weeks ago.

Koln have lost to Stuttgart, Wolfsburg and drawn with Union Berlin in their past three games since beating Eintracht Frankfurt 3-0 at home. It also means they have not scored a goal in their past three outings.
