Last place in the Bundesliga meets with eighth as Borussia Monchengladbach and Schalke finally got points on the board last weekend ahead of this meeting at BORUSSIA-PARK.
After a terrible run of form, Schalke finally picked up a point over the past weekend in what was their first since the World Cup. Even then, however, it was in a 0-0 draw at the VELTINS-Arena where the club had just two shots on target.
Prior to this, Schalke were thrased 3-0 by Eintracht Frankfurt away from home and RB Leipzig at home in a 6-1 demolition from the title contenders. Soichiro Kozuki scored his side’s only goal that day from just one shot on target for Schalke.
Gladbach were excellent against Hoffenheim last time out, as Jonas Hofmann scored twice before Lars Stindl and Hannes Wolf scored a goal each in the last 10 minutes of the game.
Prior to this, Daniel Farke’s men had lost 3-2 to Bayer Leverkusen and 1-0 to Augsburg. They now sit eighth and are in with a chance to get their European chase back on track. On the other hand, Farke’s men still sit behind Borussia Dortmund in fourth by nine points.
